Visix Now Shipping Choros AR Space Booking Platform

Finished product, which enables contactless bookings without hardware, cabling or apps, to debut at IFMA World Workplace®

ATLANTA, GA – September 12, 2023 – Visix, Inc., a leading digital signage company, has completed development of their Choros AR space booking platform, and the finished product will debut in booth 266 at IFMA World Workplace® on September 27. World Workplace is the largest, most highly acclaimed facility management conference in the world.

The McKinsey State of Organizations 2023 report states that about 90% of organizations have embraced hybrid work models to let employees work outside the office at least some of the time. This has led to new workplace habits and demands. Facility managers are on the front lines of this hybrid work revolution, and have had to adapt the way they organize and manage facilities, all while battling supply chain issues.

“Visix developed Choros to help our clients adapt to the changing workplace and labor landscape in ways that meet their employees’ expectations,” says Matthews. “Choros achieves this through an immersive experience and contactless solution that helps people navigate the challenges of finding places to work, study or gather in hybrid offices and learning environments. We believe its user-friendly experience, personalized approach and sustainable platform will disrupt the fast-growing workplace solutions market.”

Visix has recently brought several products to market to aid facility managers with space booking, communications and alert capabilities. The company is fully stocked on all hardware components and also offers software-only solutions.

Choros AR Space Booking

Visix is now shipping its award-winning Choros AR space booking platform, an industry-first innovation that blends WebAR and cloud technologies to support fast, contactless bookings from smartphones without hardware, cabling or apps.

Choros breaks ground by allowing users to book spaces on the go using their own personal devices. Users scan a QR code mounted near a shared space to check room availability, view its schedule and book if open. Choros will find alternative rooms available to book on the spot when spaces appear as reserved. The innovative technology supplants room signs through these capabilities, using native WebAR support built into iOS and Android smartphones to overlay booking options in the user’s camera view for immersive booking experiences.

Choros is a 100% cloud-based platform. The elimination of hardware and cabling saves considerable cost and installation workloads associated with room sign deployments. As Choros requires no app, users are freed from the shackles of app downloads and maintenance, while also enjoying the freedom of a true BYOD solution when booking meeting rooms, desks and other shared spaces. Systems integrators and end users benefit from receiving all the functionality of a room sign without the need to buy hardware or provide power and network connectivity to shared spaces.

IT departments also win, with no burden of coercing app downloads or website login requirements on staff. Booking processes are accelerated and barriers to adoption are reduced. Calendar integration, user groups and spaces are managed in a cloud-based platform with options for meeting rooms, workspaces and other shared assets. Space managers can note technology and amenities for each space, and users can view a 3D representation in their camera view. Furthermore, Choros easily integrates with Office 365 to show bookings and availability, and eliminate double bookings.

“Workplaces have evolved, and our goal is to help facility managers adapt their organizations to new processes, technologies and experiences,” says Sean Matthews, president and CEO of Visix. “We’re excited to go to World Workplace where we can not only premier our new Choros product, but have in-person conversations with decision makers looking for solutions. IFMA can help us finetune our space booking and visual communications roadmap to better help organizations navigate through this new normal.”

Choros received a 2023 Best Of Show Award from AV Technology, a Future pls publication, following its debut at InfoComm in June. Learn more about Choros and request a demo at visix.com/space-booking.

Room and Desk Signs

Visix will exhibit their full line of interactive and e-paper room signs at World Workplace. Two touchscreen room signs – Touch and Connect – show room schedules and allow bookings right at the sign. EPS electronic-paper room signs come in 7.4- and 12.5-inch models to show room reservations and event schedules, and can be fitted with custom faceplates with raised text and braille.

The EPS 42 desk sign is a new product that is wireless and measures just 3.3 x 2.5 inches for easy mounting at any desk or workstation to show desk reservations and QR codes for hotdesking reservations. Weighing only three ounces, the battery-powered sign can be mounted with simple 3M Command Strips. Learn more at visix.com/meeting-room-signs.

Interactive Wayfinding and Directories
The company will also showcase interactive wayfinding and directories in booth 266. Visix supports both touch and voice-activated interactivity in their digital signage software’s desktop designer for clients wanting to build their own interactive wayfinding layouts. They also offer templated and custom interactive wayfinding for all budgets, with options for QR codes and SMS turn-by-turn directions sent to users’ phones. Digital Signage and Alert Capabilities
Visix will also demonstrate the latest release of their AxisTV Signage Suite enterprise digital signage software at the event. In addition to built-in interactivity, the platform offers powerful data-mapping widgets to display event schedules, directories, building dashboards, menu boards and more. These widgets tie into third-party applications, or can pull from common data sources like Excel, XML and JSON to automatically update listings on screens.

Visix’s AxisTV Alert stand-alone alerting application is built around Common Alerting Protocols and easily integrates with third-party alerting suites like Alertus, Everbridge and Rave Mobile Safety to trigger visual alerts that take over all screens in the event of an emergency such as severe weather or a security threat.
