Georgia Perimeter College Connects Multiple Campuses
with Visix Unified Communications Solution

ATLANTA, GA — Visix, Inc.,
a leading developer of web-enabled communications software, has deployed
one of the Southeast’s most sophisticated dynamic visual messaging
platforms to Georgia Perimeter College (GPC), the state’s third largest
institution of higher learning. GPC campuses in Newton County,
Clarkston, Decatur and Dunwoody are now equipped with AxisTV, a powerful
visual communications software application enabling multiple users to
remotely create, manage and deliver an array of static and dynamic
content across the college.
GPC
utilizes nine Visix Channel Players in thirteen buildings to deliver
content to large-screen displays at all four campuses. AxisTV enables
administrators to quickly and effectively broadcast messages – such as
student activity schedules, news and weather updates, and emergency
alerts – to students, faculty and staff at each of its rapidly growing
locations for improved organization communications.

The
school’s faculty and staff complete a media request form on the college
intranet to petition announcements to be broadcast at either individual
campuses or across all four locations. What would have traditionally
been advertised on printed posters is now displayed on LCD screens
throughout the college.

GPC is
currently exploring expansion opportunities to integrate cable news
video feeds for multiple display locations, as well as the addition of
Visix’s Screen Saver messaging option for use in the school’s many
computer labs. Future plans also include linking the AxisTV system to
their CollegeNET R25® room scheduling software.
