Visix Demonstrates New AxisTV Platform
June 18, 2007
ATLANTA, GA — Visix, Inc.
announced
the pre-release debut of its latest AxisTV platform, code-named Proteus,
at the InfoComm 07 event in Anaheim, CA. The new platform will become
the underlying architecture for future unified communications
applications developed by Visix.
The new
platform incorporates knowledge gained from nine years of visual
communications software development and support. Proteus incorporates a
large number of visual display improvements that include support for
animated backgrounds, text and graphic elements; non-rectangular content
areas, and support for touch-screen and interactive applications.
The user
experience (UX) is based on the latest best practices for Human-Computer
Interaction. The UX will include support for WYSIWYG content creation
and preview, as well as drag and drop capabilities from a web browser. A
suite of interfaces, tailored to the skills of the user, will enable the
most novice user to create professional, animated content. A new theme
library will offer various professional backgrounds and icons, in
variants with and without animations. Professional users can
incorporate multimedia content from most popular design and editing
applications available in the commercial market.
The new
platform supports a unified data acquisition model. Data can be pulled
from or pushed to popular databases such as SQL Server®
and Oracle®
as well as any Microsoft®
ODBC-compliant database. Popular non-database sources, such as RSS
feeds, web services, and flat files are also seamlessly supported. A
wide range of multimedia file formats are supported, including .JPG, .PNG,
.PPT, .SWF, .AVI, .MPG and many more.
Once
released, the platform will have been in various stages of design,
development and testing for more than eighteen months. The first of the
new platform products will ship in the fourth quarter of this year.
Visix, Inc. designs, develops and supports a suite of
software applications that allow users to create, import and manage
their communications from anywhere and to deliver those messages to
virtually any endpoint.
The company offers a
digital signage application, a room and event scheduling solution, and
applications for targeted messaging to portable devices. Each of these
products works independently or can be integrated for scaleable
deployments from a single display to large networks. This comprehensive
approach to on-time communications – from concept to delivery –
provides turnkey systems including software, hardware and distribution
accessories, as well as multi-tier support options to manage and
maintain dynamic visual communications.
