Visix Delivers Mini Channel Player at InfoComm 2007
June 18, 2007
ATLANTA, GA —
Visix,
Inc., announced the official introduction of its new Mini Channel Player
at InfoComm 2007. The player offers users a powerful, yet compact,
option to larger players,
when space limitations
and aesthetics are of utmost importance.
The sleek
aluminum chassis is designed for confined areas, and the player easily
mounts to the back of an LCD or plasma display.
Measuring just 6.5”
(wide) x 2” (high) x 6.5” (deep) and weighing only 3 lbs., the new Visix
Mini Channel Player
is similar in size to that of the Mac® Mini. The compact player supports
most of the same features as the larger players (multiple content
blocks, tickers, and layouts) in a quiet, compact package. The Channel
Player features a Windows® XP Operating System tuned for use with
AxisTV, allowing users of Visix software to take advantage of the full
range of “best in class” security and administrative features. Options
such as integrated wireless networking allow the mini player to be
located in areas that are difficult to access with a wired network such
as elevators and anywhere free standing displays are located. The mini,
which has been field tested for more than six months, joins the Visix
world-class line of hardware, including the company’s Small Form Factor
and Rack mount Channel Player units.
“We have been evaluating
mini components for the last 12 months,” states Michael Scott, Vice
President of Technology, Visix. “This platform is based on established
Intel® chips and is capable of supporting the most demanding media
playback requirements.”
Visix, Inc. designs, develops and supports a suite of
software applications that allow users to create, import and manage
their communications from anywhere and to deliver those messages to
virtually any endpoint.
The company offers a
digital signage application, a room and event scheduling solution, and
applications for targeted messaging to portable devices. Each of these
products works independently or can be integrated for scaleable
deployments from a single display to large networks. This comprehensive
approach to on-time communications – from concept to delivery –
provides turnkey systems including software, hardware and distribution
accessories, as well as multi-tier support options to manage and
maintain dynamic visual communications.
