Visix
Integrates Extron’s IP Link for Digital Signage Applications

ATLANTA, GA —
Visix,
Inc. has integrated Extron’s IP Link Ethernet control technology into
its web-based visual communications application, AxisTV, so users can
efficiently manage displays in digital signage applications. The
integrated solution will be unveiled at the InfoComm 2008 show in Las
Vegas.
The first
release from Visix is designed to support the Extron IPL T S1 Ethernet
Control Interface and will
be available for purchase in June. Users can access an unlimited number
of IP Link devices from a single browser interface to manually control
an array of display functions or schedule on/off cycles. The integrated
solution from Visix is designed to control display functions closely
associated with digital signage, but integrators with programming
knowledge can further expand functionality.
“Depending on
the size of the deployment, users can annually recognize hundreds or
even thousands of dollars in potential energy savings by turning
displays off when not in use,” stated Trey Hicks, Vice President of
Sales with Visix. “Not only can users help reduce carbon emissions, but
they can extend the life of their displays and reduce the likelihood of
image retention,” furthered Hicks.
“Controlling
displays with an IP Link device in this application is transparent,”
stated Lee Dodson, Extron Vice President of Marketing. “The Extron IP
Link interface works in concert with the Visix AxisTV application,
allowing the digital signage user to manage both media content and
display hardware from a single browser interface.”
