TEi Releases Eight New Additions to the AxisTV Product Line

May 26, 2006

ATLANTA – TEi (Tech Electronics, Inc.) announced eight new product additions to its AxisTV line of visual messaging and digital signage applications.  All of the new products will be unveiled at the InfoComm trade show in Orlando, Florida in June 2006.

The eight new products include a completely redesigned GUI (v.6.1.1), native support for Flash® media, AxisTV Enterprise Edition (v.1.1.1), RSS data publisher, AxisTV Text Messenger, AxisTV Desktop Messenger, and a Microsoft® Exchange® calendar data adapter.  The releases further the company’s vision of empowering users to create visual communications and digital signage content from anywhere and deliver to anything.

The new AxisTV graphical user interface is a result of client input and independent research.  Features of the browser-based interface include multiple, simultaneous use panes that contain a dynamic tree directory, task workspace and corresponding help.

Flash® native files can now be imported and included with other flat image, media and audio files.  The media format addition is made possible, in part, to a license agreement signed with Adobe® reseller NEC Corporation of America.

Enterprise Edition (v.1.1.1) includes a number of features designed specifically for large digital signage or visual messaging deployments.  The new features include support for Microsoft® Active Directory, the ability to create and manage groups of players, crawl lists and or play lists, data management through delayed and “smart” delivery and proxy server awareness.

The new RSS publisher enables users to repurpose their digital signage content in a format that can be delivered to any number of non-traditional endpoints.  The growing popularity of simple syndication coupled with digital signage enables the cost effective delivery of improved internal and external communications.  RSS information can be delivered via an internal network or the Internet to digital picture frames, iPods, websites and more.

Text messaging enables users to select cell phones as another endpoint display for delivering relevant content and communications.  The text messaging capabilities, when bundled with SMS services from MXTelecom®, allows content creators to select relevant cell phone numbers as recipients of the specified content on a price per message basis.

Individual PC’s connected to the LAN/WAN can now receive the most recent digital signage messages on the desktop through the new Desktop Messenger product.  Users can click on pop-up thumbnails to view individual messages full screen or can play through all bulletins.  Second to email, Desktop Messenger may be one of the most powerful organizational communications products available.

The Microsoft® Exchange® adapter allows AxisTV to automatically synchronize event schedule data directly from calendars without user intervention.  The Exchange® data adaptor option adds to the existing event schedule display capabilities available in AxisTV.

TEi (Tech Electronics, Inc.) develops and supports dynamic visual messaging and distribution technologies for use in corporate, education and government applications.  For more than 25 years, TEi has created applications and products that are engineered with precision and simplicity of design, assuring high performance, reliability, and the utmost in efficiency and functionality.
