Visix is a privately held software development firm based in Technology Park/Norcross, outside Atlanta, Georgia, with field sales offices in Boston, Philadelphia, Denver, and Knoxville. The company was founded in 1980 as Tech Electronics, Inc. (TEi) to provide hardware solutions for audiovisual integrators in unique environments.
In 2000, we began the transition to visual communications software development. AxisTV, our first messaging application, has evolved in its efficiency, security and functionality over the years to serve as the cornerstone for our growing line of visual communications products. To emphasize the shift in focus, the company’s name was changed to Visix in November 2006. Visix would become a software-only company, with an emphasis on digital signage for professional clients (such as corporate, higher education, medical facilities and worship spaces).
The company’s driving idea is to expand the concept of “digital signage” so that anything with a screen can become a display for messaging. This includes, not only LCD and plasma screens, but also desktop and laptop PC screens, PDAs and BlackBerrys, Smart Phones, iPods and other mp3 players, and even newer cell phones.
Visix has now deployed more than 1000 visual communications systems on three continents. Clients include those from the corporate sector - Del Monte Foods, Frito-Lay, UPS and Parker Hannifin; higher education - Bryant University, Georgia Perimeter College, Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, University of Maryland, University of Virginia and Virginia Commonwealth University; financial institutions - Eli Lilly Federal Credit Union and OneAmerica; medical facilities - Adventist Health System and Central Baptist Hospital; worship venues - Chapelwood United Methodist Church and Myers Park Presbyterian; and retail spaces - Fletcher Jones Mercedes and the Milwaukee Art Museum.
Visix currently offers the following software applications:
